American football is definitely part of the country’s passions and one of the most respected professional sports in the United States. Everyone seems to care and have an opinion about the NFL. Unfortunately there has been an ongoing issue that everyone just seems to ignore or has been neglected on purpose by the high NFL power for unknown reasons, even though the NFL does catch a player their “drug testing program” from time to time.
The Charlotte Observer came up with a story not long ago where they showed court and medical referring to repetitive steroid abuse use by players from one NFL team, the Carolina Panthers.
“Several of them were using disturbing, particularly alarmingly high amounts with high dosages for long durations — some in combinations,”
As alarming as it sounds, apparently the same NFL players consider the Drug Testing Program to be some kind of a joke. As an example, two Carolina Panthers players pick up prescriptions of banned anabolic steroids only two days before the 2004 Super Bowl. The abuse of performance enhancers in professional sports is not being taken seriously, and I am not only referring to the NFL teams and management: did we all forget last year when one of the most impressive wrestlers killed his wife and child and subsequently killed himself after experiencing well known side effects of performance enhancement drug abuse?
The NFL is definitely not the only organization that should make some changes on drug use and abuse policies.
Brad Pitt and George Clooney faced a room of reporters with dumb questions at the Venice Film Festival. And anyone with a tape recorder rolling and their sarcasm detector turned off got the answers they were looking for.
Pitt and Clooney were at the festival promoting their comedy for the Coen Brothers, ‘Burn After Reading,’ when they decided to have some fun.
Pitt was asked if his mind is focused on expanding with family, with babies Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline a little more than one month old. “I’ll have two more by next year,” he deadpanned.
Move to Clooney, who had to deal with the standard “will you ever get married and settle down” question.
“I am so surprised to hear that question. That is honestly the first time I have been asked that,” Clooney responded. “I am getting married and having a child today.”
Pitt actually looked flustered as a Spanish TV journalist pushed her way to the front of the press conference dressed in red gym shorts similar to garb he wears as a gym trainer in the film. She asked Pitt if he would help her work out.
“It’s a movie,” Pitt reminded her.
“Would you run after me?” she asked Clooney and Pitt.
“I think we’re more likely to be running away from you,” Clooney replied to laughter.
Several times Clooney good-naturedly ran interference for Pitt, who was peppered with questions about his personal life. Asked about the infants, Clooney intervened: “The twins are fine,” then joked that he and Pitt were sitting at opposite ends of the podium because of a restraining order.
And when another questioner asked if they would rather win an Oscar or fall in love with an Italian woman in Venice, Clooney warned: “Don’t answer that, Brad.”
Wearing workout attire while toting around her oversized Fendi handbag, Kim Kardashian was spotted out to lunch with her “Dancing with the Stars” partner Mark Ballas on Thursday afternoon (August 28).

Accompanied by a few of their friends, the group headed into Toast on the trendy 3rd Street – fueling back up before heading back to the dance floor for more intense dance rehearsals.
Describing how things are going so far, Kim told People magazine: “Today the costume that I tried on wasn’t as crazy, [but] the better shape that I get into they will be a little more sexy and risqué. I’m starting off with maybe a ball gown, something a little bit more elegant and a little bit more covered up.”
Telling that their 8-hour rehearsal sessions are starting to pay off, the 27-year-old “Disaster Movie” star adds: “I’m seeing a slight change [in my figure]. I realize that when I would try to work out really fast, that I would be burned out. I would work out for two days and then wait a few weeks and then workout for a few days again. I decided to stay focused and continuous and I started to see a major change. So, I think I’ll start to see a slow progress throughout the whole show.”
It was another busy few days for Katie Holmes as she continued to prepare for her upcoming Broadway debut. Like last weekend, she was joined by Suri and Tom to have fun when she wasn’t busy rehearsing — though Katie must not have much free time now that she’s rumored to be showing pieces from her Holmes Yang line at New York Fashion Week. Katie and Tom caught a play together on Saturday night in their matching black outfits, and on Sunday afternoon they brought a sleepy-looking Suri along for some family time. We’ve seen lots of Katie lately, but things are always a bit sweeter when Suri is around to join in on the fun.
Mamma Mia’s Pierce Brosnan was raised without a father, and the experience has driven him to make sure that his kids — including sons Dylan Thomas, 11 ½, and Paris Beckett, 7 ½ — “feel like they belong” and “know the love of family.” In fact, that’s what makes him tick, the 55-year-old explained. “I’m very aware of how precious the time with my children is.”

Capitalizing on that time together, the actor spends time with his sons painting and learning how to surf, making pancakes each morning and going on picnics. He and his wife, journalist Keely Shaye Smith, 44, have also turned their sons into little environmentalists, sharing that “the boys know how to compost all the food, and it goes into the garden.”
Pierce is father to Sean, 24 — his son with his first wife, the late Cassandra Harris. Pierce also adopted Cassandra’s two children from a previous marriage — Charlotte, 36, and Christopher, 35.
Miley Cyrus has finally confirmed her long-rumored relationship with fellow Disney star Nick Jonas in an extensive interview in the forthcoming September issue of Seventeen magazine.
While neither had previously confirmed the relationship, it has long been the subject of media speculation – Cyrus said in the interview that “it was really hard to keep it from people.”
“Nick and I loved each other,” Cyrus told the magazine. “We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun.”

Miley admitted that things got dark for her after the two broke up at the end of 2007 – so dark that she even dyed her hair black to reflect how sad she was. “At first I bawled for a month straight,” she said. “I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black.
“When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights – and so I did that, and I got myself looking great,” she continued. “And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, ‘I want to make my hair black now – I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core.’ I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, ‘I’ve got to be by myself for now and just figure out who I really am.’ ”
The brothers were quick to come to Miley’s defense in the wake of her controversial Vanity Fair photos earlier this year.
The 15-year-old superstar said she currently isn’t involved with anyone, and she likes it that way. “Since [the breakup], I’ve realized that I’ve met so many great guys, but I like being the girl nobody can have,” she added. “No one can touch me, no one’s mine. I’m myself. I think it’s sexy to do your own thing.”
Although Nick is rumored to have found love with Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez, Miley hasn’t given up on the idea that maybe, someday, she and Nick might rekindle their love affair.
“Maybe he’ll be my best friend for the rest of my life,” she speculated, “or maybe I’ll end up marrying Nick Jonas!”
